Tammy Silva is a Research Marine Scientist for NOAA’s Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Her research focuses on top predator ecology and includes using different types of tagging technologies to study the movement and behavior of whales and seabirds in order to better protect them and their habitats. Tammy was born and raised in Fall River, MA and is excited to help support the mission of STS in and around her hometown and beyond.
Sidafa Conde
Computational Scientist, Sandia National Laboratories
Sidafa Conde moved to New Bedford, MA from Guinea, West Africa, at 11 years old not knowing a word of English. Since then, he’s obtained his dual Bachelor of Science in Computational Mathematics and Accounting at Umass Dartmouth in 2012 before continuing on to defend his Ph.D. in Engineering and Applied Science, focused in Computational Science and Engineering in 2017. Dr. Conde is now Senior Member of Technical Staff in the Computational Mathematics Department at Sandia National Lab.
