Recently STEAM the Streets was brought in by our trusted partner Earn and Learn to help inspire prospective college students to pursue career pathways in Contra Costa County. We worked with all 3 colleges in the Contra Costa Community College District: Diablo Valley College, Los Medanos College, and Contra Costa College. The colleges selected the pathway programs that would be featured in the videos underneath the umbrellas of healthcare, early childhood education, and public safety.
There were seven programs in total that the colleges wanted to feature within a scope of two videos. This was quite the challenge for our team. We knew that relatable stories from students and alumni would be our centerpiece, showing human evidence that these programs work for people. But how would we string these stories together, how would we make these videos cohesive? Our superstar music composer Eric Fells was our secret ingredient. He produced a different selection for each segment of the video! Our productions are about feel more than anything else – how could we inspire the viewer to feel compelled to take action. The right combination of authentic stories being shared mixed with the magic of music can really achieve that result. Now these videos are resources to inspire area high school students, showing them the possibilities you can achieve with a two year degree.
